Does the cemetery you are considering allow for upright or slanted markers?

Some cemeteries streamline grounds maintenance by restricting markers to those “flush” or level with the ground. Others allow for large monuments of various heights.

Is there a marker or monument size restriction?

Some cemeteries must limit the overall size of monuments to fit the available area. Let us discover if your monument suits your cemetery preference.

Does the cemetery allow for a differing religious affiliation?

Burials may be limited to a single faith or markers may be required to display a particular religious symbol such as a Christian cross for example. Each cemetery’s rules differ but we are familiar with local cemetery rules and can offer you answers.

What are the land-use rules?

Many people don’t realize that when you purchase a plot in cemeteries, you are actually purchasing the right to be buried there but are not purchasing actual ownership of the land. Families must adhere to the rules and regulations of the particular cemetery, some of which offer deeded plots that are owned by the purchaser. However, unlike other types of privately-owned property, cemetery plots are restricted by land use regulations.

Does the cemetery offer space for cremated remains?

Many cemeteries offer columbaria and niches for the storage of cremated remains. Some offer gardens and benches.  It varies depedent upon the cemetery. We are here to help guide you.

How many loved ones may be commemorated in a single space?

The number of family members in one space depends again on each cemetery’s policy as well as the whether you are selecting burial, cremation and other details, all of which we can assist you with.

Will the cemetery be maintained?

A visit to the cemetery you are considering or a quick check of their social media can help you ascertain the level of maintenance provided. In addition, you may want to ask about the cemetery (or perpetual care) fund, a fund that often exists to maintain the cemetery in perpetuity. Or we can research the maintenance schedule of a certain location for you.
